Online Guide to Theme 2 - Home

Previous Page

In addition to formulating a communication plan for employees and users, there are several things you can do now to prepare for Theme 2.

Determine color choices
You don't have to have a dedicated marketing department or service to have a professional looking site and color scheme.

Back Office configuration for Theme 2 relies on hexadecimal (hex) color values, which are six-character codes that represent colors used on a website. While there will be a color picker available in Back Office, it will be helpful to know the hex values of your logo and brand components versus attempting to pick them off of a color wheel with unlimited choices.

Even if you don't have access to software like Photoshop, there are several other ways to figure out not only what actual colors are in your logo, but also which colors coordinate with them.

Many recent versions of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint have an eyedropper tool that you can use to determine the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) value and ultimately the hex value of your brand components.

Simply paste your logo into one of the programs with the eyedropper tool, and hover the eyedropper over the area for which you want to know the RGB value:

Next, in your preferred search engine (Google shown below), type 'hex value for #, #, #' with # representing the red, green and blue values. The hex value for the color will be in the search results:

Many of the sites listing the result will also have information on color schemes that coordinate with the color you searched for.

Knowing the hexadecimal values of your brand colors in advance of Theme 2 being available for configuration will let you get a head start on what colors you might choose for each Theme 2 setting.

Revisit your logo
Now is a good time to make sure your logo is up to date and in the proper format. Transparent logos work best in most applications, and are especially important if you are going to use a background color in NetTeller. Again, if you do not have an image editing program such as Photoshop, there are many free and easy tools available online to make a transparent image. A search for 'make a transparent image' will show multiple options and instructions for cleaning up your logo's background.

The maximum logo dimensions for NetTeller are 425 pixels wide x 100 pixels tall; PNG is the preferred file type. JPEG (.JPG) images do not support transparency, so saving as a PNG will retain all the hard work you went through to make it transparent in the first place.

Think about marketing materials and user guides
As soon as your new look is configured, users in controlled deployment will have access to get updated screen shots needed for any FI-created user guides or marketing materials. Use the week or two prior to launching Theme 2 to update these materials so they are ready to go when needed.
